With his background in law enforcement, serving for over 26 years from state trooper to major, Marty has a unique perspective on the challenges churches and pastors face today.

About Me...
Married to my lovely wife Susan. I have two daughters, a son and eight grandchildren.
My education is as follows: Doctorate in Bible Exposition, Master of Ministry, Bachelor of Biblical Studies and an Associate of Arts in Education.
I am an ordained pastor and former certified senior level chaplain in the International Conference of Police Chaplains. I served as senior pastor to two Tallahassee Churches and as an Intentional Interim Pastor for the Florida Baptist Association to several churches in North Florida.
I wrote several articles for the “Spiritual Pathways” of the Monticello News in Florida as well as articles in the North Georgia News. I’ve had two radio programs entitled “A Brand-New Man” which aired on three stations in North and Central Florida, and in North Georgia. In 1995, I recorded a Southern Gospel album entitled “Heavenly Sunrise”.
My secular career is quite extensive. I am a graduate of the Florida Highway Patrol Training Academy, the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles Management Fellows Program, and the United States Drug Enforcement Administration’s Drug Unit Commanders Academy. I served over 26 years in state law enforcement where I held the following positions: Judicial Investigator for the 17th Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office in Broward County, Florida, Contraband Interdiction Program Coordinator for the Florida Highway Patrol (Lieutenant), Chief Counterdrug Law Enforcement Liaison in the Florida Office of Drug Control and the Contraband Interdiction Program and Cargo Theft Commander for the Florida Department of Transportation Law Enforcement Division where I retired at the rank of Major. I also served and retired as the Bureau Chief of Staff Development for the Florida Department of Corrections where I also served as the Florida Corrections Academy Director and a Commissioner in the Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission.
Yes, there’s more… I am a certified law enforcement instructor and expert in areas of counterdrug enforcement. I’ve delivered courses of instruction to thousands of law enforcement officers, executives, and civic leaders across the United States, Puerto Rico, Trinidad, Bahamas, Virgin Islands, Mexico, Canada, and South Africa. I am also the author of an interactive training CD entitled “Vehicle Stops: Drug Interdiction for Patrol”. I was honored to receive the United States Drug Enforcement Administration, El Paso Intelligence Center, “Operation Pipeline/Convoy Instructor of the Year Award” and the “Director’s Award”. I also received two commendations from Florida Governor Jeb Bush for my distinguished service in the Florida Drug Control Strategy.
I was the church planter and Senior Pastor of Fellowship of the Hills Church (FOTH) in Blairsville, Georgia. FOTH was planted in October 2008 in our living room. Due to the exponential growth, we moved five times until completing our new Worship Center on 5 acres in 2023. In January 2025, I retired as Senior Pastor to assume Pastor Emeritus status, allowing me to pursue God’s call in this new ministry path.
In all, my most important goal is “To Share the Gospel of Jesus Christ”.
Everyone needs to hear of God’s great love, to hear of His grace, mercy, and forgiveness. Everyone needs to know that Jesus is the ONLY way of their salvation that Jesus is the ONLY one who can change their life. I have many favorite Bible verses, but my life verse is found in Proverbs 3:5-6.
My ministry call is to be an active part of God’s Kingdom growth and to see people become champions for Jesus Christ.

Pastor Marty Duncan is one of the most dynamic people I've ever had the opportunity to work with. One of the most enduring blessings that I have had in over 35 years of ministry started in the early 2000’s, when I was introduced to a Florida Highway Patrolman by the name of Marty Duncan. I had no clue at that time how I would witness the power and calling of God on another man’s life as much as I have seen in Marty. From the days of him sharing his passion for the Lord through music, to God calling him to preach the Word after he retired from the Patrol. I had the privilege to be a part of his ordination into the Gospel Ministry in September 2003, and I still remember to this day the words that he shared in that council meeting. I knew God was doing a mighty work. I witnessed God use him in some of the churches in the Tallahassee Florida area in a powerful way. Yet all of that was a preamble to his true calling.
The Lord moved Marty and his lovely bride, Susan, to North Georgia where he would start a church in his living room. I watched that church grow in the Spirit and in numbers for 16 years, moving from store front to store front and finally in their own facility. Under the inspiration of God, Marty has led that church to be a glowing lighthouse in that community, being involved through many outreach opportunities. This church, known as Fellowship of the Hills, has also ministered to me and my bride, as we have taken many vacations into that area and found a place of spiritual respite through that body of Christ.
Through the years I have seen Marty’s heart for the Lord, his passion for people and his burden for fellow pastors. Even though we are hundreds of miles apart, He has reached out to me when I have experienced trials. We have shared heart aches together as well as miraculous victories. Now Marty has a calling to transition into another dynamic ministry and I have no doubt that God is all over this, whatever it develops into. If you ever have the opportunity to use Marty Duncan or partner with him in what God is doing through his ministry, I encourage you to do it. I have no reservations in recommending him. Through him, you will experience the Lord.
Fellowship of the Hills has been a supporter of the Blairsville Shop with a Cop Program for many years. Pastor Marty Duncan has not only been a great freind to our Department, but a true humanitarian of giving with his free food bag program each year for families who are selected to participate. I have seen first hand the love and compassion the program has provided to so many in need. Pastor Marty also leads us in prayer each year before we begin to shop with our officers and volunteers. I belive we are blessed to have Pastor Marty in our Community.
Not long after assuming the Office of Sheriff in 2009, I met Pastor Marty Duncan. I learned quickly of Pastor Duncans love for the lord and his background in Law Enforcement. He was an important part of initial training for our office in the area of highway drug interdiction and enforcement. Pastor Duncan has an incredible ability to deliver knowledge and share his experience from a teaching platform that keeps everyone in his audience captivated. Pastor Duncan has stepped in for our office more that once over the years as counselor, after deputies have been involved in bad situations which affected their own mental and spiritual well being. He has always been just a phone call away and has been someone who I have, and continue to rely on in a time of need.
In my 48 years as a Southern Baptist Pastor I can honestly say that Dr.Marty Duncan is one of the most EFFECTIVE servants of God that I have ever known. He totally believes and preaches and teaches and lives the Word of God. He is very personable, articulate, and easy to work with. Marty gives God ALL the glory for the many ways he has been successful in his ministry. Additionally, Marty glorifies God with his ability to sing Christian songs. With all my heart I recommend him to you as together you and Marty seek to advance the Kingdom of God here on the earth!
